The legitimation to use the professional title of European Trademark Attorney and European Design Attorney is obtained by registration in the list of professional representatives at the Office of the European Union for Intellectual Property (EUIPO). European Trademark Attorneys are subject to the rules of the Community Trademark Regulation ( VO EG/40/94) and the Union Trademark Regulation (EU 2017/1001). 

 

Due to professional regulations, patent attorneys are not allowed to represent conflicting interests. Before accepting a mandate, it is always checked whether a conflict of interest exists or could exist.
